A Brief History

Antonio and Fernanda Machado came to Canada from northern Portugal in 1979. Like many newcomers they had dreams of building a successful life and to follow their dreams. They worked very hard over the next two decades, and were able to fulfill their lifelong dream of opening a restaurant that would pay tribute to their Portuguese heritage. In 2006 Antonio, Fernanda, Brian and Christina Machado opened the doors to Churrascaria Steakhouse and there has been no looking back.

In the true spirit of family, their son and Executive Chef, Brian Machado now heads up the restaurant and catering initiatives, along with his sister and General Manager, Melanie Vinagreiro.

The team at Churrascaria Steakhouse and the establishment continues to grow and expand to the adaptations and needs of our ever-growing clientele. Majority of our highly skilled chefs and staff have been with Churrascaria Steakhouse for more than 10 years. Our masterful chefs continuously explore ideas for menu items and create daily artwork with Portugeuse cuisine.  The entire team at Churrascaria makes our establishment an absolute success since everyone is driving for the finest.

The newly renovated wine bar area is a favourite with regulars who come and enjoy the Portuguese cuisine paired with Antonio Machado’s signature Sangria or various wines handpicked from Portugal. Sit back and relax to European style music or enjoy watching a jogo de futebol “soccer game”. Surround yourself with family and friends on our outdoor patio that is popularly known for our gratifying atmosphere, unparalleled cuisine and unique graffiti wall.

Catering

Our banquet room offers space for 50 to 110 guests. This space is perfect for weddings, corporate functions or family events. For those who want to enjoy the Churrascaria food experience at home, we have an entire dedicated area and entrance for takeout orders.
